A comprehensive approach to integrity of a DN 400 high-pressure pipeline

The gas flow through Polish pipeline systems has been gradually changing from the east-to-west direction to the opposite direction in the last few years. As a consequence, a requirement for the reinforcement of the capacity of transmission gas pipelines has emerged in some Polish regions.

The author describes the rehabilitation of a 55 km DN 400 gas pipeline, which ranged from the debottlenecking and cleaning of the pipeline to in-line inspection and tests to pressure-induced repair and drying.
