Assessing the technical condition of high-pressure gas pipelines using the pressure-induced repair method
In the first part of their article, The importance of pressure-induced repair, the authors discuss the need to assess the technical condition of high-pressure gas pipelines after a long time of operation and the need to extend their service life while maintaining their operating safety.
From this perspective, the authors describe the method of pressure-induced gas pipe repair, which makes it possible to diagnose the technical condition and integrity of the pipes and also to improve the technical safety parameters of the pipes’ parent material and stabilise some of its flaws. Following repair of the critical spots identified in the gas pipeline, this makes it possible to decide about its continued safe use.
