Safer purging of pipelines carrying flammable gases and liquids
Safety of work in operations involving the displacement of flammable gases and liquids (displacement purging) and air displacement from gas pipelines can be significantly enhanced when using inert gas mixtures with a high content of nitrogen.
Thanks to such mixtures, there is no risk that an explosive mixture will form in the pipeline, and therefore no risk of explosion.
For this technology, CEPS has developed a generator of nitrogen mixture for slug purging based on membrane separation. Following its successful testing in the field, it has developed a new series with an output pressure of up to 25 bar.
